About Citadel Electric

Founded in a muddy job site trailer as a Missouri corporation in 1996, Citadel’s first project was the B2 Stealth Bomber Flight Simulator Facility at Whiteman Air Force Base. Through hard work and dedication, we quickly became known as an expert in providing electrical solutions for construction projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Citadel completed several multi-million dollar design-build electrical projects on military bases in the Midwest during the first five years of our existence.

We quickly developed a reputation for providing prompt and reliable first-class service and established ourselves as a trusted and respected electrical contractor in the Midwest. Considered the premier electrical contractor for projects on area military bases, we used our diverse experience to expand into other commercial and industrial markets. On an ongoing basis, our team completes complex projects in the Bioscience, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Food Processing, and Mission Critical markets. Much of our growth has stemmed from the long-term relationships we have developed with General Contractors and owners who value the high-level professional service and solutions offered by our team. With our growth came an office just east of downtown Kansas City along with the selective hiring of talented, knowledgeable, and proactive electrical professionals.

Today, the company is privately held and actively managed by an executive team that includes two founders, Larry Larsen and Barny Hattey, along with Gregg Slagle, Marc Tower, and Mitch Larsen.  Our current team of project managers has over 250 years of combined experience in the electrical construction industry.
