Citadel Electric Group Inc. is committed to sustainable construction and the economic and environmental benefits it brings our clients. We have experience in and knowledge of solar array installation, lighting retrofits, building management systems, and facility audits to reduce operating costs. Sustainable buildings generally provide lower annual costs related to energy, water, maintenance and repair. We respect the natural environment and the resources it provides to maintain a quality of life. We are proud of our record as a LEED contractor, taking very seriously our role as a leader in energy and environmental design. When Citadel takes part in a green project, we make sure each aspect of our work meets the highest standards of environmental sustainability—maintaining the conditions under which both humans and nature are able to live in accord without sacrificing the technology needed for comfort, economy and future development.
The Kansas City Overhaul Base, a 1,700,000-square-foot manufacturing and maintenance plant near the Kansas City International Airport, is an excellent example of Citadel’s leadership in and commitment to maintaining the environment. Citadel recently replaced over 4,800 light fixtures among Kansas City’s overhaul base’s 23 structures. The newer, more energy-efficient technology will save the city more than a quarter million dollars each year. As a matter of fact, the lighting improvements will pay for themselves within four years, and tenants will realize substantial savings in their operating expenses. Most important, this improved lighting is part of an overall upgrade of these facilities to help ensure their continued productivity.
